3rd Mike Fjeld (vision) back-up boat
4th Frank Erion (q-shot)

Thats it, the string is broken. Congrats to Donnie Macdowell for being the man to step up and break my winning streak. Sunday Donnie opened up a whole can of experience on me and killed me on the clock start in the first heat, he then shut me down on turn two and it was all over. I did redeem myself and win the second heat. So thats it 8 heats so far this year and my total is 7-1st and 1- 2nd. Great race Donnie. You taught me a clock start lesson. See you in Eustis, Mike

Jerry's motor would not turn up. 5k was it and it wasn't running good under that either. He will get it fixed and then we will see what he and Jack's new changes will do. I'm thinking that could end up the boat to beat.

If anybody on this board wants to know what kind of guy Jack Barsh that owns Full Throttle Powerboats is. Take a look at the paint job he threw on his gorgeous Team Mercury Quartershot. I was told the Laser that Rick King was going to run developed steering problems the day before the race and Jack told him to take his boat and proceeded to lay the sweet spray can graphics on it. Boat manufacturers like this are what this sport needs. A competitive spirit along with a sense of humour will take you along way. When I finally sell all my other boats I will definately be ordering a boat from Jack and coming to race SS. The guys racing this class are having to much fun and the competition is getting stiff.Congratulations to the entire SS class.

Damn! A Clock Start? I wish I would've been there. That would have been my competitive advantage too. I love those. It's hard for the Spectators to understand and it's a lot more work for the race committee to put together, so for those reasons, the LeMans start makes a lot more sense, but for those of us who raced for years on a clock start, it's nice to get to those every once in a while.

I had to go to my niece's wedding in Ocoee on saturday and what do I find at the outdoor chapel, a boat race. Hell Yea!
I got there just in time to see the super sport boats,( i always thought I was lucky). Was looking for the Allison but he's not ready for the new season yet. That quartershot that won is sure sweet. i was told the next race is in eustis in april. Gonna check it out and see if the Allison can run with the quartershot. Looks like fun.

Jack offered to work on my boat at the Nationals and I own an STV. He's a good guy like all the Super Sport drivers. Just watch out when the flag drops. They grow fangs, talons and hair out of their faces. Nothing (almost) is more fun than Super Sport.

If you just had those flames on your boat it could have been a different story.:D

I am waiting to here from one of you guys that are going to step up. My thoughts are, another Quartershot is the most likely contender. Maybe the new "baby bird" but we still have to see if she will fly. Danny Mac claims that he and the Ally are coming out for fun only ( I dont buy it). Donnie Macdowell is always prepared to win now that he is back to getting serious with the fastest boat in his fleet. The Mirage boys, Sam and Jose? Jerry with his latest set-up changes? Mike Fjeld in his blueprinted, dialed in, back to the old school, vodka and cranberry with a wine spritzer, fueled Vision. Is it as fast as it use to be? Is it faster? We will wait and see. My personal feelings are it just doesn't matter. Bring your candy asses to Eustis and get what is coming!
A friend of mine was at that race...and he sent me a couple pictures...
This was a picture of the Father of the Bride -- his daughers' beautiful outdoor wedding was right next to the pits. I'm trying to figure out if he is enjoying the races, or patiently waiting for them all to leave ?? :D
Some of the Supersport action:
this picture had my friend baffled..... He knew times were tough, but he didn't think things were so bad that boats were now having graphics done by spray cans? :D
You guys are a hoot!
Enjoy!
My friend Marc just built an entire website based on pictures he took at the Ocoee race last Saturday.

Sam, are you going to race the new boat at Eustis or Altamonte? It looks like we might have 12 or 13 boats at Altamonte and 10 or 11 at Eustis. It is going to be a wild show with that many boats hitting the first turn together at Altamonte. You guys in the back are going to have it tough. Hope to see you there, Mike

Is the boat above in the pictures the same boat that is in the apba magazine? It appears the top is just a different color.

Believe me, I'm trying. I'm boatless at this moment. I've heard Mike is working on it (from other people). But Mike has been unattainable by phone this week, so I don't have a date. I have everything ready to go in it and on it. Should take us a couple of days to rig it and a week or two to test it as best I can. I am DEFINITELY going to be at Altamonte and the other 4 APR races. If I don't have a boat by Altamonte, I may scrap the year and just start later. It's going to be tight. I'll just stick my picklefork between your steering hoses and let you pull me around the race course :-)

Sam I talked to Jack about your boat needs. If you call him and order your Quartershot this week he will have it for you on or before May 10, 2002 this gives you 2 weeks to get ready for Altamonte. I think he could probably get it ready by the 1st of May but thats me talking. He is very busy right now but could still easily get you a race boat, that can win, ready in time to race. What is the deal with Mullins I know he is not that busy. You are his chance to show what the new Mirage can do. He needs to get it ready for you. See you in Altamonte, Mike

All the Mirage owners on this site need to call Mike Mullins and tell him to get Sam Bakers new boat finished. Right now the only Mirage racing is Jose. If he doesn't get something other than a Suzuki on the back he will never be competitive. Sam is the Mirage lovers only chance.
Get on the phone and call Mullins, we need the competition. Come on Mike, get Sam on the water. All your supporters need it.:)
