Hey Eric - What's up??? :D Well to start with I added a floor with carpet, removed the back seat and remounted the gas tank in its location, changed the battery cables, routed all wires down the stringers with stainless steel rubber clamps, put in a switch for the fuel pump, replace the bilge pump, installed Eddie Marine battery box with billet cover, and replaced brushes, springs, and brush holder in the starter. That seemed to help the starter problem for awhile. Now I think I burnt the starter out. I have a short in the windings. I read continuity to all parts of commutator.

It seemed to be misfiring so I changed the spark plugs. That didn't help so I looked into the problem further and found I was only firing on three cylinders. I turned out to be a bad switch box. :( I replaced the switch box and decided to run the boat. It was alot of fun to drive, but something is still wrong. I think I might have a clogged fuel line or a dirty carberator. I also noticed that Spencer had a few extra washers under the head bolts. I checked the compression. It was between 110 - 120 on all cylinders.

If you know of anything else that was done to the motor, please let me know. I've had enough surprises.

I'm having a great time playing with it and learning about outboards, but I'm still not ready to trade in the Sonic !!

Talk with you soon. :D

False alarm everyone!
It seems is was merely Jerry. He lost the glasspack off of the Falcon Wagon and was dropping the clutch in the school parking lot.
