Went today and filled up with some gas(still hurts, but thats another thread) and saw that my favorite Sunoco station isn't handling 94 octane anymore. 93 was the highest they had. Has anybody else saw this???? I heard from people in Long Island that they haven't had 94 for a while. This is the first time I actually noticed it. I always put 87 in the Bronco and Tracy drives a diesel. Anybody have any info on this??? Chuck.
Around here, all the Sunoco stations are owned by Arabs now. Everyone who works there is Arab. I know everyone said that Sunoco is from 100% domestic oil (supposedly), but they've cleverly been buying up Sunoco stations and exclusively employing family members and friends. I've noticed this just within the past few years with Sunoco stations in particular. One of them covered up the Sunoco logos on the pumps, but the rest of the signs remained. what am I actually buying, and from where? These "all-American" stations now look like a head shop inside, and they've installed 1" bullet glass around the cashier, even in the nice neighborhoods.

To you, this must seem like the best thing since Clinton. And I don't mean George.

Unless they have changed within the last couple of weeks, the stations around here who were carrying the 100 octane still have it. I haven't seen a shortage of "sport bikes" so the demand is still there. It's kind of pricey though, last time I checked it was $5.00++ One word describes this bull $hit..THEIVES!!!

Chuck that's because they are changing to 10% ethanol blend in NJ. You think you are getting 93 Octane (maybe it was when they blended it) but in the summer heat, the ethanol has a high rate of evaporation. Ethanol being an octane boost when it evaporates will be an octane loss!

We lost 94 here also but they added 91. We used to have 87,89, 93 and 94. Now we have 87, 89, 91 and 93.

Most of our gas stations around here are dropping high test. Is this happening every where? I am assuming that people are not buying it for there cars because of the price and the stations arent selling enough to make it worth it for them but I hope they keep it around or I will be screwed.

Only place you can get 100 octane here would be Atco Raceway, no where on the street.
Is Enthanol the reason? I wasn't able to find out.
Is octane boost the answer? I for one do not want to blow up my 300X. What kind should I uses? Chuck

You wanna hear about some ridiculous pricing? At the ODBA race yesterday we had to buy fuel on site. You would think "no big deal, racers bringing gas for racers so the price will be good". Fat freaking chance. For the same Sunoco 110 that I pay 5 bucks a gallon for I paid 9 DOLLARS A GALLON! ODBA is a great racing organization and I plan on running most of them this year, but the first question that came to my mind is HOW IN THE HELL DO I GET THE FUEL CONCESSION!
Oh yeah, they were charging 8 bucks for a quart of Klotz R50. I pay $17.50 a gallon!

Honest question: What's wrong with airplane fuel? I used 110 airplane fuel mixed with a little more oil with great results. The prices was just a bit more that regular 93 pump gas....

For general running I would say nothing, but most of the drag organizations require spec fuels for some classes. We used to run a drag car on Avgas cause it was cheaper.

jphii, where are you getting Klotz for $17.50 a gallon? I just paid $28.00 a gallon for KL 333.

I personally don't live or boat near an airport for one thing. The one airport withing 20 minutes of traffic and back from me won't let me tow the boat in for 120 gallons of fuel and I really don't want to carry two 55 gallon drums around.....
