Check out what my father in law has created. He took a 1988 BMW M3 and stripped the suspension, transmission, motor, and any other running gear that he had to and replaced it all. Here is what he added. A lowered stiff racing suspension, Corvette ZO6 5.7 Liter built to 450 BHP, Camero 6 speed competition transmission, and some special rear end. The only thing that makes this look diffrent that a stock M3 is it sits 1" lower. There is no other sign of what this is really cappable of. I have no idea of what the performance numbers are, but it is about as close to a race car as I can imagine. Oh, and by the way he is looking at the new ZO7 motor to drop in with 500hp, and 500lbs or torque. He did this all by himself, nothing was hired out.
