she's got a new look, the old fairing that suffered the tilt mishap has been replaced by a new hose kit and padded white vinyl decking with foam padding and red anodized hose tips on the deck
due to my crazy schedule it took three days here and there when time permitted for me to make the decking and install the kit but the mishap is over now :D

But I got to ask Did you install the battery disconnect or is it where it won't damage anything if the thing starts to trim on it'sd own again?

rickracer helped me get the kit and man i'm pretty happy with it!!
whole new look and i like it better than the fairing i think
i probably wont be posting much for a while, my computer still hooks up at the speed it used to but last week something happened and it's so slow now i think it will get the brunt of my anger it's causing and be on the bottom of the lake soon

Looks good Skip! Is that the vinyl you were telling me about last weekend? Those rings really do finish it off.

Skip,I was wondering if you have to jack the motor up all the way before you trim to the trailer position. I've got a REX hose kit for the Vector and was playing around with different positions tonight and it seems that without the motor high those hoses may kink. I don't have the jack in yet so really can't simulate it at home so I thought I'd ask.

nelsoncat,
i dont have to tilt it to trailer it, actually it's in the trailering position in the picture i just have the tongue of the trailer super high so the motor was low enough to work on, the talon sits high on it's trailer
now if i had a V-6 on my vector i used to have, i would put a hydraulic jack plate on it and take it straight up for trailering instead of tilting it to the trailering position
shorepounder, yes thats the heavy duty vinyl we can use on your interior ;)

laker,
man i have no clue what happened to it, just slowed down on the web so bad it isnt even fun anymore
in the mornings it seems half assed ok for speed but in the afternoon or evenings i can walk to the kitchen and back before it changes from one page to the next, this only seems to happen when i'm hooked to the internet
the hookup speed is still the same (has varied in the past) but from one day to the next last week it changed, still same hookup speed but runs slower than the second coming of christ from the afternoon on into the night then in the morning (when theres very little traffic on the web) it seems to react better?
it's and old hewlitt packard but was fine one day and slow the next and never came back to what it was, i did a disk defrag complete c drive and no change
it is a dial up but always has been and was never this slow

Skip
Call your ISP and ask them for other dial up numbers.
You may have some server issues that can be resolved by a different dial up.If you have broad band you are probably renting the cable, ISDN or DSL modems so talk to them about swaping out your hardware.
Go here
http://www.sisoftware.demon.co.uk/sandra/index.htm
and down load this
SiSoftware Sandra Standard
when your speed is ok, and test your hard ware to make sure things are up to speed.
Last we would need to scream at the Phone company to find out if they have changed any hardware along your path.... Keep me up to date
Thanks
Chris

Talon,
I had the same problem last fall. It got so slow it wasn't fun and I know I missed out on a lot of good boat"gossip". I called my internet provider but that did NFG. I changed from netscape to IE and for some reason that helped sort of; kind of pointing the finger at the Netscape but then after about 2 weeks of threats to yank phone lines out of the wall it (the Netscape) went back to normal on it's own. Disabling all the picture autoloads, and shooting guns etc really helped speed things up.
Sorry I don't have a better explaination; I have this love/hate thing with computers!!!! Thanks for the tips on the Vector/hoses etc

SLOW NETWORK, that is a core router on the backbone should be about 20-25 ...
SO your ISP is Constipated..........
What are you doing with your crushed fairing?
Talon2.5
03-15-2002, 04:35 PM
hey barney!!
gonna repair it when i get time and may pull a mold from it and reinstall it with the hose kit re-routed around it, my thoughts on the length of the hoses the way they are now (look pretty long) is that i'm adding setback soon and needed the length so lft them long for now
the reason i explained the length also is that when i do fix the ole fairing and re-install it (not in the near future though) i will move the mounting point of the hoses back some and that way the fairing stands a bit further forward than the hoses are now, it's hard for me to explain what i vision in my head but thats the tentative plan, everything ive done.....steering cables, throttle cables, main harnes etc. etc. has been longer for the future setback to see if i can work with the C.G. of the boat and get it to balance in flight better  we will see i guess ;)
Only I would be willing to repair it for you and make a mold and make a new one for both of us.
Let me know.
