painting aluminum bow rail ????

anybody down one what kinda prep is involved

Sand with 400, etching primer works well and paint. I have even painted chrome this way.

1)400 grit sand,
2)Variprime by DuPont,
3)DP 40 by PPG,
top coat your color
Probably too expensive for bow rail application,(lotta waste), but paint finish would last forever.
