I'M REBUILDING A 2L and was wondering how far i could '' shave'' the heads.
After measurement, they top 33 cc's sharp on each '' CUP ''.

Maybe someone else has an exact number for a stock 150 mariner, but
The answer I've always gotten has been that they have to be cut to different amounts, so cut them enoughht to get to "145 psi max" at compression test"
Hope this helps.

145 max psi? i have a 1973 merc 150 hp tower of power on my mate', and that has 150psi in 4 cylinders. 1 is 149 psi, and the top 1 is 155psi.

Sounds like a healthy I-6,
The 145psi max was just what I was able to gather from
this forum on 2.0 Merc V6's running on 93 octane pump gas.

Hi,
Ok for the compresison reading, i also found this figure in a thread somewhere.
But a was mostly asking how much should i remove in order to get this figure since i don't know at what it was to start with, the engine was not running when i bought it.
Is 33.5 cc a mofidied figure or is it standard on these heads.???
