My Garmin GPS 12 just took a crap. I need a new one. Here's what I'm looking for.
Decent sized screen with bigger numbers [for us old blind guys]
Max speed readout
Preferably one that reads tenths at over 100 mph
Thanx for your help. Post a pic if you can. I'll probably get one on Ebay. I love Ebay

The Gamin III or III+ can be read at speed . It can support a GPS speedo . You can find them fairly cheap on eBay .
Randy, here is what I have and I really like it. It has 56mb or memory to store more points(compared with 4-12mb in most), and 36hrs of battery life (compared to most with around 12). I added city streets software and blue charts. I use it in my car when traveling with detailed street, restaurrant, gas...etc info, and it has detailed buoy, channel, chart info for my area waterways. It has other waterways as well, just not the detail unless I load it. also waterproof.
Last time on the Suwanee, sid had boat problems. I took a mark where his boat was, droves many miles away, through the twists and turns, and dropped him at the ramp to get his truck and trailer. Hit a button and gave sid my gps and it took him turn by turn back to his boat in BFE.

Probably better prices around, I took the first one off Ebay I found for the link.
BTW, also gives max speed, estimated time of arrival, almost anything you want.
