One of my "sources" just reported seeing, and photographing from shore, in and around Venice FL, the following interesting contraption - A large center console boat, with no markings on it, rigged with a Mercury engine (Optimax or Verado - need photo he's sending me to verify) in center position, an Evinrude on starboard side, and a Yamaha (HPDI or 4-stroke not yet known) on Port side.

Could it possibly be that our friends up in Quebec are up to their old gimmicks again?

Has anybody else seen this rig yet, or have any other information?

I've see the pic. Posted somewhere here or of BBC. I think it was just a guy that couldn't make up his mind.

I think the post said something like the Ultimate shoot out boat, or something like that.

:D

now the question is does one run stronger than the next so the throttles can never be syncronized.. and what does he do about different gearing offerings.. damn. must be a PITA to operate if true.

Ya put a big prop on the Merc, little props on the other two, and the RPM's come out the same.;)

Sorry

i would think it would be the other way around... beins that the 250 XS has a 500-1000 RPM advantage on the range of RPM

I'm going to guess its a 25" transom.

Throttle Up propellers is doing the prop work to get it dialed in. It is a local boat (st. pete) boat owned by Todd at pro-marine.
