Merc oildyne leaking down????

Hello guys, I just swapped to an offshore mid with an oildyne setup. First off,I have to replace the ram,there is oil that gets on the piston everytime it goes up(this had atf in it) . I drained it and bled the system with 10-30. Next if I trim the motor up, it will slowly leak down. There are no manual screws on this pump setup, so what could be causing the leakdown?? Could the leaky ram seal be causing it or is it a pump issue. I have a good ram to replace the leaky one, but never had this setup before-so any help would be great. thanks Lee NJ

Cant figure this out, If I trim it straight up and down, it will leak down slowly. If i trim it to say trailering position or at a 45 degree angle-it will stay there and not move. My guess is the ram has a bad spot and it wont seal right when its straight up and down??? and when its out further it seals tight?? I will swap the piston out in a few days and get back to you. Lee
