If your going to run in my class, run a 27. If not you can't get any advice without more specifics, like rpm, gear, etc.... I'd also like to know how yours weighs 200 pounds less than mine.

For all around 24p 14.5 dia would be good mabe a 26 and still have some excelleration with good top end assuming you have 1:87 gears.24 might be a little small if your not going to twist pass8500 ,I guess I would start with a 26

ty for thr repley I am going to a rally at lake barryessa in may and we are going to try abunch of differnt props have an assorment now. but some are kinda old and I dont want to throw a blade. how will a 26 do getting me out of the hole. we are not doing any real racing just like to have the fastest boat at the lake this year. most of the guys that we race are jets or v drives. not to meany outboards here in ca

That hull likes the OLDER inline 14x26 chopper, not the new big ear. Too much bow lift in the big ear. The 25,27 SRX is a great prop for you as well. You might try a 26 ET as well, it has more neutral bow lift as do the Yamaha props. The 26 Yamaha will be the quickest.

It takes more than just "extras" to twist any 200 to 8500 and still make decent power, if it even stays together long enough to get there...

list some of the extras... how much port work pyro's right somethin doesnt add up in RPM department..

if 92 mph is at 10% slip yer only turnin 7800 if ya was spinnin 8500 something is off.... id look to be sure something isnt amis..

Run a 26 Yamaha for drag racing and a 28 ET for all around cruising. A 28 Yamaha style from Performance propellers is another good wheel for everyday use on a Mirage...........all the Yamaha handling characteristics but very durable.

What are you talking about? You made a post asking about props, you got the answers you were looking for, and this forum is the best place on Earth to find the props you're looking for, so what's the deal?

What are you looking for? I have a pretty good selection, steve has a lot of props also. I run a Mirage Polecat to drag with (300 + HP) and an Allison GSE for a family boat. For 1/4 mile with a 1.87 gearcase i like to run a 24 yamaha drag but I do turn my motors up more than your 7500, a 26 drag to me is a little slow in the bottom, but thats just my opinion. I don't like big #s for top end, I don't care how fast my boat is just how quick it is. I think BAD things happen when trying to get that last 1 or 2 MPH out of your rig stringing it out for a mile of so. There are a lot of folks that prefer top end to quick so their advice will be much different than mine, 30 and 32 pitch is their ideal prop. I even like a 22 or a 20 for my 700' passes.

There is a lot of good info here but you have to sift through some BS sometimes to get it, be patient and the correct help will surface. Good luck.

hey thanks rick I am with you I want to get there quick. Like you I dont care about tope end I just want to get out of the hole fast. and what I am looking for is eather a yami 24 to 26 or what steve sugested a in line 25 or 26. I have a inline 24 a 4 blade 27 and a 3 blade 28. I am going to try a prop that my fatherinlaw has it is a 2 blade. I am also going to try a masco 27 re4.

I don't think Pyro was trying to be anything but constructive. You asked for prop suggestions..........ya got a few. Soooooooooooo, what prop is it that you are looking for???
Since your motor may turn around 8000 rpm's max, I think you're better far better off with a 26p for 1/4 mile runs. A 24p may leave a bit harder, but it'll fall off way before the end of the 1/4. It would be better suited for 700-1000ft. runs. That's what we found with our Euro/2.5 200 w/ tuner, cut heads, reeds and stacks. If you have stock porting, you don't have an abundance of rpm's to work with. :)

I agree with you. that is what I am looking for I just cant find the 26p cleaver

steve

A cleaver would not be a good choice unless you are looking solely for topend. They don't holeshot or accellerate as well as the other props mentioned above. They run very flat also, very little bow lift. The exception would be the Merc 4 blade with the little whale fin. ;)

If you want quickness, you don't want a true cleaver. A cleaver is a superior top end prop for your Mirage, but it will sacrifice the quickness. A Yamaha / Yami copy or Lightning ET is a far better choice for 1/4 mile runs.
