Looking at an 01 Ficht to replace the Xflow.
Are the 01's manf by OMC or BRP?
Dont want the OMC stuff from the years before buy out, have heard quality was an issue.

The deal was closed in March 2001.
The 2001 engine was made by OMC.

The 1999 models were the last to be covered under OMC warranties. 2000 models and up have been made under Bombardier warranties.

They were covered until OMC went bankrupt, that is. So were 2000 and 2001 engines.
2000 models and up have been made under Bombardier warranties.
Well, 2000 and 2001 have not been made under Bombardier warranties since Bombardier did not own OMC back then. However, Bombardier decided to cover them to protect its customer relations and its future spare part revenue.

BRP is a seperate company from Bombardier, although the recreational products used to be a division of the corporation. BRP is now owned exclusively by the family, the desendants of Armand Bombardier, the inventor of the Ski-Doo.

It was bought out from Bombardier by some family members and some investors in 2003, I think.
