Meguiars #45 - Anyone ever use before?

I met a guy today who swears up and down by this product to restore and keep gelcoats fresh? He said to use after a heavy cutting compound and then seal with #56. Anyone familiar with Meguiars #45????

Bob, I'm not sure if I tried that product, but I will say that I like using Zymol on my boat - not the Autozone Zymol either. :)

I have always been impressed with Meguires products. BTW, if you are trying to bring back faded or oxidized gelcoat, there is a product called aquabuff 2000 that is amazing. My euro was getting faded and I hit it with aquabuff a couple of months ago

do you lay that on after a compound or is it an all in one? Do you wax/ seal it after? Also- where can it be purchased???? Thanks...Bob

Nyseguy, I used it instead of a compound. It cuts really well and shines with no swirls. I guess it is an all in one, however, I did use McGuire's (not sure the number) after for a gloss finish, although I am not sure i needed it. The shine was not much better, but my thinking was that it would last longer.

Buying it is the thing, I read about aquabuff for about a year or so before I was able to get it. Their web-site's shopping cart is not the best, but I eventually got it. I also recently found it at a fiberglass specialty shop and bought a bunch more. Go with the Aqua-buff. That is the best stuff I have ever used. If you know your way around a buffer I highly recommend it. It must be used with a minimum 2000 rpm buffer and Lambs wool pads. The results are outstanding. It is a polish so you really need to put a good heavy coat of caranuba wax on after the polish to keep it shining. The stuff retails for about 15 bucks and its on sale for 10 +shipping at the website on fishes post (http://www.aqua-buff.com/site/478459/product/AB2000)
