I currently run a 94 vindicator which is totally stock with a nosecone
I am currently getting 79mph out of it and i want to get close to 90mph.
Can you give me some ideas on modifications to get close to this.
Also i want to stay away from changing the internals but i would consider a porting job, but i cant lose too much botom end cause i pull 2 skiers out.
Any info would be great. Can you supply manufactures for these parts to.

Lot's of guys on here with experience with OMC, I am sure someone will suggest a recipe, but in the meantime may help if you list the type of boat and what props you have/are running as well, guessing being aussie it's a bullet/cyclone/conolley style of boat?

The man ya need to talk with is Al Stoker, Johns Custom Marine in Stanton Ca. USA. He is the master of OMC , and knows ski racing. He goes my Racer on this forum.

Mad EFI front end and a set of Stoker's off set chamber heads with a set of his intakes and plugging the exhaust relliefs in the cylinders are about the ony two bolt-ons that will make a noticable difference.

Some things that will help yours is getting rid of those intakes and getting a set of 96 or later (or early 86 - 90). Make sure you have the mid bore carbs. Gut the airbox or take it off and jet up a bunch for that. Plug the exhaust reliefs and a set of 2.7 uncut 225 heads. This will wake that motor up a lot but I don't think your going to get the numbers you're looking for without having it ported.

Put in on a boat and send it to Stoker and let him do his magic, that'll come closer to putting a smile on your face that'll take a month to go away than anything.

Do a search on "Gutting The Air Box" and jetting. Some have said that a gain you get with the "Gutting" isn't worth the risk of the lean burn? Then some say it makes a huge difference. BTW, Al knows best and if you need the final word his is it!

Do check with Al, and Wayne. Al can sure tell you what works and doesn't. I have done bolt ons to my crossflow, and Al was very helpful with that and the jetting, and what not.

Greg has a write-up on blue-printing a prop that can add about 2.5 mph to your top end. Beware that it will weaken the strenght of the prop by a good %.
