280ROS false Tach readings.. Advice needed please

I'm experiencing false tach readings on my 280ROS above 7500 on new mercury 10k tach. I understand from friend of an friend this is common on the 280's ECM ignition and there's fix somehow by putting a resistor on the tach or something along these lines.. blah-blah-blah....

If anyone knows anything about this your input-advice- orfix would be most greatly appreciated..
