Any one ever tryed one? I have seen them on motercycles and r/c cars. Seems to be of some performance inprovment, not as much as a tuned pipe but every littel bit helps.

Are you talking about nitrous?

No,it's a bottle the same cc as the cylender with a tube between the reeds and carb that works on the same prencible as a tuned pipe in that it charges with the puls of the intake stroke and returns the pulse just at the beging of the next and so on. This is to give you a super charged afect .

There was a product called "roost boost" which I believe was marketed by Answer Racing Products. It was commonly used on two stroke dirt bikes in the 1980's. I really dont think it helped performance all that much (however I should say that I personally never did any testing with one)

Pretty much considered a "gimmick" in the hi-per snowmobiling world. You guys really need some tuned pipes.

Larry is right. Boost Bottles came stock on one Yamaha mx bike and Eddie Cole of Answer Products ( who I worked for) sold thousands. I myself have never seen any gains on a single cylinder however twins and triples I have. I am not sure how or do I care how they work but when the numbers get bigger on the computer its cool. The main advantage to the things is Balance. They come stock on Yamaha snowmobiles.Correction, used to, now they are all 4 strokes (I work for Yamaha). I like Gimmicks. Pipes are not legal for us jefro.

Dave, Since you worked for answer back then and now you work for yamaha it makes sense that you would remember the "roost boost". My father was a yamaha dealer in those years and I raced motocross. Anyway, from what you said about the benefits of balance on the multi cylinder engines it sounds like a simple balance tube would have the same effect. Kind of like what came stock on my two-stroke yamaha rz-350 (which I still have and love). It was a simple tube connecting the rubber manifolds (between the carbs and reed valves). Larry
