Hello guys...

I am thinking about some type of "easy to use" software to handle my D70s photos. The camera came with the Nikon Picture Perfect, but I am not impressed with it. I saw a friend who was using the Adobe package and it seems to be more than I need.

I would like to do the following:

1) Organize my pics

2) Do some RAW shooting and learn how to handle those type files

3) Be able to resize the pics for email and uploading purposes

4) Do some basic re-touching (red eye..etc.)

5) Write the pics to DVD or CD.

That's about it for now. So, if you were getting your 12 year old some software what would you get?????

Thanks ..Jimmy

Jimmy, try Picasa 2 - it's free too. http://picasa.google.com/

I'm pretty sure it supports RAW files now, but I'm not 100% sure.

If you want something more advanced, have a look at Photoshop Elements.

Thanks Greg..

I was wondering if Photoshop elements was a "plug in", or stand alone package. I guess it is available by itself..

Thanks alot....

irfanview is a free package and works very well. Easy to use too.

elements is a stand alone, lastest version is 4.0 seen it for $50 with the rebate and 79 other wise. it does do the raw but check that your camera is listed by adobe. nikon is playing games with some of the later camers d200 for example
