Your sayingshort shaft which would be a 15" mid.I think your meaning a 20" or longshaft. If it's a 15 that would be sweet for racing.Either is a good motor assuming it's in good condition. Not enough motor for that Vegas unless 35mph cruising speed is ok.

You may get 45+ by yourself, light.I think full of fuel and 4 people you would need another prop.Find you a good V6 150+

Paqs,

I have two Rude friends, one SteveO has a 135 on a nice LIGHT homemade boat that runs close to 80 w/ the small lower and a madd intake.

Brett (Dirty Bert) has a light 17' Bayliner BEERCRUISER with the same motor, just threw pistons it. IT RUNS:p

They run, but not for that Hydrostream.....You need something that's going to at least get you up on the running surfaces...

200 hp minimum or it's embarrassing;)

(Like trying to get on plane all day) :D

Too small of a motor, you'll be unhappy. It would be a wallowing sled. Need a V-6.

You could find a clean 2.4 200 cheap... there all over the place.
I agree with trikki, having a vegas with any less than a 200 is embarassing.
