I heard that they had some problems getting the race started. They were limited to race between 1 and 4 in the afternoon. I only know about lake racer, Lee Sanderson got 1st, Andy Driver got 2nd and Jeff Tyner got 3rd. Sunday will have the same time schedule. Hopefully the FBI will get to race at Harley's from here on out! Jay.

They only ran 4 classes on Saturday and never ran the drag king class. They were limited to running between 1 and 4 and are limited to the same times today. They are supposed to run the king class today. It was good racing though.

I heard the blue "rev limited" hydrostream beat out Billy (2nd) and Rich (3rd). The little inline came in 4th in formula.

how many boats showed up sunday for drag king ??????

DCI
03-19-2006, 09:53 PM
There were 5 boats in the class Sun. The yellow allison was a team effort between Brad Tresler and Jeff Tyner. I know these two are very disapointed cause they busted there a$$es to get this boat ready and it only got to make one pass.

We had a disappointing weekend. Spanky built a he!! of a motor, but we can't seem to get the fuel system figured out. We will get it figured out by the next race.

It's gonna be tough to hang with either one of those yellow boats (any of the drag king guys actually) in drag king so we're probably gonna stick to PLR, cause at least I won my bye run there! I think the boat runs better with a little weight in it. Who knows, we'll see after some testing.

Had a great time though!!!

Had a great time on saturday, There was some close racing in my class (formula) as well as the other classes with many races decided by less than 1/2 a boat length....it was a good time win lose or draw..

I think I would have been a little upset if I had gone all the way down there only to not get to run again. What is going on with the race site{s}??

I think I would have been a little upset if I had gone all the way down there only to not get to run again. What is going on with the race site{s}??Drag King did run on sunday.Baker says that the rest of the season we should be fine at Harley Paiutes because the Manattees are heading out of the area. Its a pretty good site.I hope there arent anymore last minute changes.

They also talked at the sunday drivers meeting about having it only a one day race and leaving sunday open for rainouts or whatever. Each weekend most of the racers dont return on sunday so its better this way. There arent any time restrictions at Harley Paiutes either.Shouldnt be a problem running all class's in one day(saturday).:)

As I understand it we couldnt originaly race this weekend at Lake Stella because there was a canoe festival or something and it got canceled.I also heard that the Bunnell site was wanting to charge $20.00 per boat to use the ramp so Baker said he would race us somewhere else so we moved to Stella.

Bet it will be hard to get good water in the summer.Alot of big boat traffic.:cool:Good point.Thats why the Drag king needs to race first and then Pro Lake Racer and at 11:00 am sharp. If ya aint in the water by then thats your problem. These races can be run but there has to be a method to the maddness.Just a thought anyway. It works great in my head:p

HEY ROB , If them Faster Classes would quiet plating Grab Ass with each other and just line up like we know they can , that would sure help out a lot . River Runner ran a 3 boat feild in less time then it took them to run one round . Go Figure . Rich Martin 018

Hey Guys,
Clay & I had a great time as usual, looking forward to seeing some of you @ the ODBA & ECDBA events. We'll be down to play every chance we get.
For those who have not attended or competed in the FBI events, go check them out, this is a great orginazation with some very competitive racers putting on a good show for the spectators.

I heard the Yellow Allison Drag from St Cloud blew up, but was .4 faster than anyone else before that.

How did someone come up with one boat being 4 tenths faster than another with no timing lights?.....A stop watch?.....

Hot Shot Merc
03-21-2006, 06:57 AM
Joe,The reason not many people were there at 9:00 is because Baker told us the city only gave from 1:00 to 4:00 to race.At the Harley Paiute site if everyone would get their $hit together the drivers meeting can be at 10:00 like its supposed to be and the first class in the water by 11:00.This way with the boat traffic on the river not at peek yet the fastest boats can run safely first.

Anther thing I see thats rediculous is when the drivers are milling about an 1/8 to 1/4 mile away from the start barge:rolleyes: You guys are makeing wakes when you jump up and get to the line to pair up.Yall need to stay closer to the starting line.I never stayed that far away and when I get back out there I wont either. Not cracking on you guys but rather suggesting a little something.;)

You know Scott you wouldnt have to clean out a fuel injection motor as much as a crab to begin with and if you aint idleing around the hole time yoyu wont have to either.I always just return from the finish line and kill the motor close to the starting barge then rap the throttle a few times in Nuetral and then pair up.It works fine for me.:)

03-21-2006, 10:10 PM
Rob,
The way you describe is fine on a calm day but when the wind keeps blowing you into the weeds or other racers you have to idle arround every now and then. I usually try to stay away from the start line far enough so I can clean it out a little on the way when it's my turn to run, I never saw any rollers either day, perfect water.

Scott,
Not a problem & thanks for the kind words.

Jeff,
You're welcome.
Don't cut yourself short, you were cooking, wish the prop would have worked a little better for you.

Yep, one for the pump and one for the ignition. When in doubt, use the ODBA rules. That way you know you're covered.

The 2 day deal is great for us out of town guys but if nobody shows for the 2nd day I guess it's pointless.

Even though I'm am pretty much local (40 miles each way) the funds just aren't available for me to run both days this year .Not even sure I'll be able to make every mouth , but I'll try and support the club as much as I posibly can .
