Have a friend whose 70 OMC is filling up the bottom cylinder with fuel and therefor hydraulicing the motor(locking it up). I think the fuel pump works off that cylinder so could it be leaking by and causing this? Havent had a chance to look at it yet, he's just splained this to me on the phone. Anyone ever ran into this? Thanks Scott

It might be the fuel pump, but usually is the float, or needle and seat. I had a friend with a pontoon that sat in the water all the time. The gas tank would build pressure, and the boat would bounce around from waves. The engine was tilted with the cylinders lower than the carbs, as the boat bounced, the floats would also bounce, and let fuel into the intake. this caused the cylinders to fill with fuel, and lock the engine. He started disconnecting the fuel line and running the engine out of gas, while it sat. The engine didn't have TNT, and you had to get into the water to tilt it up.

check the fuel pump. chances are there is a torn diaphram.
