Merc 2.0 150 Performance

Any recommendations for optimizing performance from a Merc 2.0 Litre 150hp powerhead? Best carbs, reeds, tuner, etc. Thanks.

in the past we did a 2 liter with a five petal horizontal reed front half from a 200 2.4 shaved 50 thou of the heads milled out the exhaust chest, 2.4 tuner, opend the booster hole in the piston, dual stage reeds,cleaned and deburred all fuel passages(intake front half and block)we did this about 4 or 5 years ago and he was out this past sunday still going on the same power head.
