I am looking for a great ski and cruise prop for my vegas. My best all around prop is a 26" Mazco RE4. What do you guys think would be the best?

Hey Jeff - I'm with skittles...Trophy Plus would be a good pulling and crusing prop. Pitch would depend on your max rpm's....I would think you should be thinking in the 26 to 28P range as a good combo prop.

Jeff is running a fairly stock 2.5 200, so the 26-28 pitch will probably be too much for a ski prop.
Honestly it will be hard to beat that RE4, but I think a trophy would be worth a try perhaps in the 24p range
BTW I do have 2 each 23p trophys, one standard (large barrel) and one plus (small barrel) that you could give a try on memorial day at the river ;)

My buddie uses a Raker, he can ski all day and still run over 100!

The Lasers are pretty good props and can be had for a lot less than the Trophy's and Tempests. They aren't too bad on top either.

Blkmtrfan:
I have an annual camping trip at Lake Diablo above Concete in May, and might be taking the boat to that. I know you in that area, if I take the boat would it be possible to try it then? I think it is about the 1st of 2nd weekend of May.

Sorry Blkmtrfan, I just realized you are in Bellingham, that is still a trek.

That isn't too far out of the way if you come up I-5 first then go east to concrete, I am only about a half an hour from the HWY 20 interchange, perhaps we can still work something out so you can try them.

Yes that is true that the Lasers are pretty good ski props on an XT and they can be bought for only a couple hundred on e-bay

On my Virage and SS2000, my Laser hasn't had enough lift once the motor is raised up much. Just guessing, but I bet the 20XT needs lift as well. I have used the Laser as a ski prop on both boats and it works well for that. Actually it runs OK on the Ally if I remember to keep it low.
