This e-mail comes to me from friend Michael Matty in Irac. This is the first time I have recieved this kind of news.
Hello from Afghanistan..
I typically start off with "all is well here in Afghanistan", but as I write this it is not well. This morning we went to the flight line to bid farewell to 4 of our 391st Engineer brothers. They were killed a few days ago when an IED went off on the front vehicle in their convoy (an M1114 uparmor humvee ). They were conducting a routine patrol with the route clearance package, looking for IED's to destroy so as to make safe passage for other coalition soldiers. We saluted as their bodies were loaded on the C-17 for the final trip home. Please say a prayer for the families they left behind as well as everyone serving our great nation at home and abroad..Such a shame, but PLEASE , PLEASE , continue to support the fight against terror...If we don't fight here, we will have to fight there!!!
