2001 grand Am GT1

I am using my grand am v6 to tow a VKING with a 235 Johnson. Do I need the transmission cooler? Am I harming the car?
I am trying not to do too much towing with it, but I am curious if I can save the tranny buy getting a cooler for it or should I just tow as is.

For the minimal cost of a tranny cooler, I'd put one in. You might regret it if you don't and you're jammed w/ a $1500 tranny bill. It's peace of mind for sure.
