Does anyone else?
This is the hardest time of the year for me, after a wet gloomy winter, the sun starts coming out, temps start creeping up into the 70's, and all I want to do is be outside instead of working.
I am taking tomorrow off, hoping it won't rain, so I can play with the boat and fish a little bit.
Then its off the the airport to pick up dad so he can come see his new grandson. :D

I'm one of those morons every year, (as long as I have a motor that is alive)
I haven't stopped yet this year.
As long as it is at least 50° and the sun is shineing, I am out there.
We bring along with us........snowmobile suits, gloves, helmets, warm boots.............if you didn't know better, you would think were are on the snowmobiles............but we haulin across soft water, not hard water.

Yes I have a basshawk, and I am going to take it out tomorrow and see how it does. I got it spinning a 24p turbo about 5600 rpms, and had pretty bad chine walking with my 24p raker, and a larger 4 blade of unknown origin. The 4 blade has more pitch, and I think it would be faster if I could turn it, but it chines so bad, its down right spooky, so I let off.
I was about out of travel on the jack, so I took it home, and raised the motor 2 bolt holes, so I have more adjustment, so we shall see. I need to try a 10 inch jack and see if a little more setback would help.
One thing that really scares me about this hull is turning. If the nose is down, it will turn, almost pivot on the front part of the hull, like doing a donut in a car, well when at speed and on the pad it doesn't turn well, but if you drop the nose at speed, you are getting tossed out. I think moving the engine back another 2 to 4 inches would help with that.
But its running alot better. Much more punch now.

You got it good. This morning at 6AM I got woke up to this loud noise, sounded like a 100 BB guns shooting the house. It was sleet but more like mini hail hitting that side of the house. I said dang, must be the vice president is hunting across the street and got a couple laughs. Has not melted yet. We have a ways to go before spring gets up here.

Hawks are hard to get data on. I talked to a guy at a gas station one day that said his dad had one a while ago, and it would put the nose way up in the air when it was up on the pad, kinda made me think mine wasn't there yet. You know, high up there where you couldn't see over the front kinda of high
The boat has a wide pad, it looks similar to the shape I see on bullets from the back, I have never looked up under a bullet though. It looks kinda like a W that is stretched sideways.
My buddy has a V-King, and he says he gets scared driving it fast. But he has a Stallion Tunnel as a play boat, and let me tell you, rock solid boat right there. You have got to be acting like a complete fool to make that boat chine, and it used to fly when he had a modded GT2.6 on it.
If I only knew then what I know now, I have no doubt in my mind we could had that boat running well over 100.
I would love a Vector or V-king. I rode in a Viper with a souped up 135 Johnson on it, and man it was a ride with a big chopper. I saw one at the lake last year with a 2.5 offshore on it, and was like, man, that thing would really have to move. It was the American Flag version. Nice looking boat.

You are right about that. I always liked sunset on the beach, it generally cools off a little.
Hey is it true what they say? People who live down there don't swim in the ocean?

Nope, I've lived down here all my life--a long time:rolleyes: and swim in the ocean every chance I get. I go to the keys more than I should, love it there. If something eats me, well I'll die pickled!!:D
