Race hatch = Speed increase?

Do race hatches increase top speed? I have one for my boat 30 Motion, but i have never installed it. I have only used the boat twice now. I was just wondering if there is any confermed speed increases by installing a hatch. What about a soft snap in one? Has any one tried that?

hi i have a motion too , i have a short race hatch so i can seat 5 people on some motions the cotpit is very big and open for which may catch air, but my setup is nice when you sit in the back not too much air falls to the well area of the cotpit , so i guess to answer your question it may give you a little speed (1 to 2 mph at full speed) ...

My cockpit area is huge. 6 foot wide and 6 foot from the back of the front seats to the hatch. If I could pick up 2 mph I would call that an increase. Shooting for 110 mph, at 103 now

ON my Skater it gives me 2-3 Mph on the top end. It's hard to explain but if your going into a wind it slows me down. I think the air gets trapped between the high backs.
