This part dumps all the water from the poppet out of the cowl instead of going into the midsection. It is like dry stacking. It keeps all of the factory cooling. They are 195.00 + shipping . It comes with billet poppet spacer, hose, hose clamps, gaskets, bolts, diaphram, and a billet dump. 760-440-9334

I heard something about this, I also heard performance gains were impressive for the simplicity. Is this true?

03bignasty. I would like to see how much speed you get with this part. It is perfect for your motor. It would help Greg also.

Are there any heat related problems? Water pumps or seals.
Simon

The water from the heads still dump in the midsection to cool the pump.

I finally went out yesterday and tested them. The only thing that I have missed about my old 260's was the sound. The 300's just don't have that screaming rubber band about to snap sound. Those days are gone. These motors sound awesome now. They are louder but I don't think you would have a problem at all. You wouldn't believe the amount of water that comes out of it...

Can't do any high speed runs yet. I'm still breakin everythin in. It must make more power and the sound difference is worth the money alone. Next time I go out I will take some video.

I DONT THINK SO. I HAVENT HELD ONE YET BUT IT LOOKS LIKE IT BLOCKS OFF THE ENTIRE DUMP HOLE TO THE MID.(THE BOTTOM WHERE THE WATER GOES WHEN THE STOCK ONE OPENS) SO IF YOU PUT A VALVE ON IT AND CLOSED IT ALL OF THE WATER WOULD HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE HEADS AND IT WOULD NOT WORK. I THINK.:D

They won't change idle much because your mid is full of water already.

skatin how hot do the midds get???
Doesn't appear that heat is a problem at all. The water from the heads dump in the mid still to keep everthing cool. Notice on the video the amount of water coming out below the pee hole. It's a lot of water. I can't wait to make some speed runs.

Can somebody tell me exactly what this part does and what dry stacking is.I am relatively new to outboards.I have a 30 shadow cat with 99 Promax 300's.

Yea, what fishead asked. None of the poppet water goes thru the strut anyway. What exactly are you drying out. Or is this for a motor that has no bucket?
Does the poppet still close at idle so the motor can warm up?
One other thing. What are you cooling the heads with. On a stock motor, the poppet dumps into two cavities on the side of the bucket. Those cavities are drained by 2 1/4" holes. The water that can't go out these holes is what backs up thru the heads. Any extra water you are dumping is not going thru the heads.
Whats your water pressure and head temps?
:)

They are for motors that have the can cut off or a different tuner installed. It diverts the water from the poppet valve that would normally go into the exhaust, out of the cowl. It is a little more than half of the water that is dumped in the midsection. It helps with acceleration and top speed. The poppet valve is still stock, so there is plenty of water pressure in the block. It runs the same temps and pressures as stock.
