1990 Mirage ski racer w / ss 260

Anyone using a 15 in mid on an early Mirage. I set mine on today and as anticipated the shaft is 3 in above the pad. No adjustments left. The jack plate is a 12 in Hydrodynamics. I would like to swap out for a 9.5 in with about 3.5 or 4 in of drop. Anyone done this. If so what jack plate did you use.

I've got a 12" factory OMC mid, and it's nowhere near that high or that far back. It only has about 1 1/2" of vertical adjustment. It's on a 1994. See:

I've only had it for about 6 weeks, so I'm no expert on the setup. But I think I've got the cone about even with the drain plug. I will tell you this, the boat flat hauls a@@.

I had to drop the jack plate on my 96. With that much set back you shouldn't hit the transom with the engine cowl. I could get 1" below the pad with a 10". Mike
