What is wrong with having both
Choice is good :)
What is wrong with having both
Two concurrent and parallel engine development programs are more expensive than one. And who do you think ends up paying for it? :(

Its no mythe.
The racing Verado wont be available to the public...therefore the public doesnt need to know about it.http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/3834/bash9dy.gif (http://imageshack.us)

Was alll kinds a hype about it being the next miracle mobile a few months ago (pre test run), and aint heard a word sense???
Wonder what happened and how it performed compared to our ancient 2 strokes  :D
Did hear once again the BRP will release a 350 HP V-8 E-tech in '08.

If there is ever a racing Verado, the first sign will come from one of the sanctioning bodies. There will be a sponsorship agreement from Mercury, accompaning rulebook changes and press releases all around. The most recent example would be the Champboat series and the new Champ and SST engines.

Sure did.:D And I expect it will be exactly the same if BRP decides to participate directly in boat racing.

APBA/Merc writing rules is kinda like Henry Ford discussing color options for the Model A.
"You can have any color you want as long as it's black" :D

Model T, A's came in different colors
Ford is actually misquoted .... he actually said you could have any color you wanted as long as it was black when you bought it

What ever happened to the guys putting the Honda indy car engines on the outboard mids?
That was a big deal back when this board was new before the re-design.
That is the type of motor it is going to take to get outboards to the next level... 4 valve per cylinder mini V-8 technology.
I wish the motorcycle companies were a little more adventurous about sticking two 1400-1600 cc 4 cylinders together into V-8 configuration and putting it on top of some type of performance mid.

talked to the F-! car guys a yr or two back and got serious enough to guestimate costs and it stopped there.
my guess is that w/o allowing double the displancement for the car motors (ala 450cc 4 strokes in the 250 moto cross class and 1000cc 4strokes against 500cc two strokes in F-1 bike road racing all while the factory scream about 4 cycle superiority) they won't be able to do it.
Turbo lag on a single speed transmission (L/U), weight of inner (sp??) cooler and electronics etc.
Could be wrong but so far....... seen nothing to convince me yet.
Only time anywhere, that a 4 stroke has handled a 2 stroke is with a near 2:1 dsiplacement (and weight some times) advantage. Cu.in to Cu.in?? CC to CC?? Not yet.
