Anybody know the average psi numbers the the above mentioned outboard? Considering picking up this outboard and would like to do a compression test before picking it up. Thanks!

take the intake port covers off just one gasket not expensive but if you find stuck rings by looking at piston sides you will be way ahead. we have found many times you can ck compression and it will be ok but the engine will have stuck rings from carbon. pull covers on stbd side of engine under ignition plate roll engine and ck piston skirts, ring condition,if any stuck and look with lite across top of piston when at bottom of stroke for any wear on exhaust side.
better to look and if need give owner $$$ for gasket than buy with just short ck and build it a month from now

I have to say this has got to be one of the best message brds on the net!! Willing to give a fellow boater a helping hand. Wish there were more boaters on the water with the same attitude. Thanks for your tips, I'll let you all know what happens when I get a chance to take a look at the outboard. Thanks again!:D
