I am running a 225 Pro Max on 12in Rapid Jack on my 20XF Bullet. I am turning a 26 Trophy 6500RPMS at 81mph GPS, 25PSI water at WOT. This setup has been perfect for me since this is my first peroformance boat. Now that I have been introduced into the speed rush, I am hooked and want more:cool:

Any suggestions on how I can get more with what I have:cool: Did I mention this site is the sh%t.:)

1 1/2 Inch Above Pad With A 26 Bullet Cut Chopper Should Put You At About 92 Mph. Of Course This Is With A Low Water Pickup.

Thanks for the advice.:) How do measure 1 1/2 above pad? How would a 28p Drag 4 from Merc perform:cool:

I don't see how you can get 92 mph with 26" of pitch and 6850 rpm. 30" would seem about right.

The best improvement I have been involved with on Bullet 20 w/ 225PM is to change the gear to a 1.75:1 ratio and stick a 28 ET or a 29 SRX on it. Put the horsepower to work through a taller gear ratio and it will come to life. Also made a tuner change that helped some. The biggest improvement on top end was the gear change. Put the boat in the mid 90's with a light load. If i can be of any help just let me know!! Good luck to ya!!!

That was about the highest posted speed on the GPS after the run. No internal mods. Just SVS, tuner change with relief holes in hsg., gear change, Still had the stock heads on it. It would still climb against the rev limiter with a worked SRX 29". Boat runs mid to upper 80's with a tournament load in it. I was impressed to say the least. It belongs to a S&F member,
But he may want to remain anonamous lol!!!!

If you are looking to run all out top end no load go with a 30P et, B/c, or Performer. You could probably get all around performance with a 28P B/C or Perfomer. No load low 90's, going fishing 87-88.

I noticed you are in Cleveland Tn. You are just across the river from Paul Nichols place in Soddy Daisy. He is a hell of a set up man and a straight shooter. 451-0125

I agree with M. Chapman. With those mods on a Pro Max, a Bullet with a good driver will hit mid 90's.

I have a moded Pro Max ( SVS etc. ) and no rev limiter and I can hit 98 - 99 MPH with my Allison.

Get the engine ( prop shaft center line ) above the pad ( 1 to 1 1/2 inches ).

Balance boat, take out unecessary weight, and start with a 28" Merc chopper or a bullet cut chopper or Merc Lightning ET. A Masco or Hoss Triton will also work if you can find one to try.

Good luck.

Also not all ET's are the same, A ET from Performance Props in Soddy Daisy, TN is what ya need. And right thier were tha Bullet setup man is.
Paul Nichols.

Have him make you one out of a Chopper II, it will be a better prop.
But the treshhold you ar loking for is hard! Very hard to make.

It's not just bolt on a go. Trust me! It's hard to get there!
And you are not gona get it with a 1.87 lower unit! Not gona happen.
Well in most cases, carfull what i say thier is always that one that will run like hell!
