Everything mercury did was stolen or taken from someone else's efforts or abilities . That's the only homework they did.

Saw these motors in person at the Miami Boat Show. They are a work of art!! Very impressive and much needed in our high performance world where the big manufacturers have forgotton about the needs of the two stroke weekend warriors!

Wow. Yeah they just got lucky when they perfected the idea of using exhaust pulse to make horsepower. I'm sure there was absolutely no work at all involved. They probably never used a dyno to design motors either....they just used all those stolen ideas and knew they'd work. I'm sure they didn't design the ignition system capable of 12K+ rpms either.

What does this have to do with CRT? This thread is about CRT introducing a billet 2.5 liter V-6. If we want to start pizzing on brands, lets start a new thread. JMHO

Agreed. CRT is making a product for a certain group, looks great! Merc was not making money on their products and had to shift their product line to ones that were selling more. Can't blame Merc, if the market exists it will be filled.

Not sure that is a valid point. Pretty sure Merc has shifted away from standard fuel injected 2 strokes because of EPA Regulation. Not sure if CTR will run into that problem or not, time will tell.

How much could a rotating assembly cost?

Brendan power gets 30k for a powerhead that doesnt last long before it needs to be freshened up. They wear out much faster then the drag racing guys and thats been going on for 20 years. I think its just one of those products that if you have to worry about the price your not buying one anyway. If your not buying one your option doesnt really matter. Its only worth what someone will pay for it.

I had no idea they were going for that much.

Running 10K all the time for at least 30min every time out will do that to any motor.
True running hours probably last the same time.
