Hogging the rod slots too much will hurt your primary compression but its necessary when you want a motor to twist up (higher rpm). There are plenty of threads about what rod slot mods work and dont work they are about as long as the oil debate threads

Fingers will help grunt everywhere, increasing volume of CC will not help you do any skiing or tubing.

    And there you have it.
With what you want to to do with the boat, I would stop grinding and run it. Most importantly, with what you have already done, I think you need compression. 140 lbs + or - 5 lbs. Run good fuel and xd50 oil and enjoy boating. You should already have 331490 heads. If not, get some.

I've done quite alot of twostroketuning in the past, so I think (and hope..) it will be ok. None of the port durations has been changed. Sleeves and casting has been matched and rodslots cleaned.

Do you have any thread-tips? I'm probably using the wrong words since I'm not native speaking...

IMO, with the info I've gained from talking to various omc people, is if you're building a bridgeport for -7500rpm it has plenty of exhaust, what it needs is intake (fingerports), port cleaning, and intake stuffing. I plan to do just that on one of my 2.7s for my flats boat.

Most people just putty or weld up the side of the block so they can bottom feed it like a 3.3. There is no boss in the rod slots like there are on 3.3s.

The ports feed from the bottom instead of through the piston window.

The question I have is, can you make a Bridgeport spin 7500 or more without adding finger ports?

We have a stock ported 2.7 on a lighter weight Vector it's got big bore carbs and Chris Carson reeds and unlimited packs and it turns a 14 1/2 x 27 3 blade Dr 3 and runs out of steam at 7400.

I drilled the limiter on my stock packs and it hits a wall at 6500-6600. That's a 200-300 rpm increase from before. I've been following this thread to try and figure out how to get mine to pull that high without finger ports.
