I have no idea what they cost new, but they're a lot rarer than people believe. I was told that there were only 8 or 10 complete engines ever built, but given the fact that the Texoma unlimited had 3 of em and the factory team ran em on a two or three boats, the number seems low. There was also the one that Jim Mertons lost his life trying to set a record with, and it's my understanding that that particular motor still exists.
As far as value, it's a matter of what somebody will pay for a super rare collectible. If I was going to guess I would say 8 to 10 thousand for a complete one, but the gearcase is the problem. I have 3 of em and could use one more, but I've never heard of another one still existing except on the Merton engine. It would be relatively easy to adapt a #IV Speedmaster to one (cut and respline the driveshaft) since the bolt pattern at the bottom is the same, but it would take a IV that was set up for a right rotation input, since the T4 turned right while all of Merc's other champ length motors turned left. There are some right IV Speedmasters around, and it's possible to have a leftie converted.Membership upgrade options: http://www.screamandfly.com/payments.php

Well, Hurricane Sandy looped around to Cleveland and removed The Bridge Docks Clean! Its been renamed Rocky River Marina back a few years ago. The Apache (10 meter Warrior) has been out of the water but hopefully will be back in for 2013. I am going to remove the T4 and the EFI power heads and install two new 3.4 standard carb versions in hopes of better daily driver use. I do have a new 3.4 Black Max with a 30" mid, considering mounting that in the center and see how the boat performs with one engine. About 800 pounds off the rear might make it go pretty good. Then adding 1600 back on with a three engine set-up would be cool looker but might be a little heavy in the as....

I have a Few 3.4s.....Cosworth blocks are 25 lbs lighter. Have better top main oiling. The T4 has small 2.0 style flywheel and 2.0 starter. And finger ports. 3.4 efi offshore has big starter and funky flywheel.... cool . the 3.4 offy had solid mounts.... low water pickup and cut upper driveshaft for wobble . Later 3.4 s had 40 amp and alum. flywheels and tapered wrist pins.. the race ones had steel sleves.
