To this day ,i can put my elbows on the table, move them around and clear the room.
I cannot possibly be the only one.

Hot singles
According to Dick this is the boat he brought from Italy , then sold to L. Schindler . Motor type was not clear but may have been earlier , like BP . I was very happy to find T1 in pieces , but rebuildable . This is the motor that you people helped with throttle connections . Ran the boat at Rideau Ferry APBA vintage meet . Motor ran great , but my nerve and lack of expereince held speed down . Sure was fun !

Wish I had an actual picture of Ludy's Molinari, but here is an artist's rendering of the Molinari that Ludy ran in U class in 1972 and I think again in 1973 (1974 Ludy ran a real nice Scotti). This 'rendering' is from the Picton race program 1974.
Ludy always ran Johnsons, so if your Molinari is indeed Summerfeldt's then it had Merc power when Dick owned it, then OMC power on it with Ludy.

Check with Dick.....this is the boat in which he was hurt at Lake Como........I recall him telling me it was powered with a BP. Ludy bought it when we received it in Toronto and bought an OMC for it. As far as I know it never had a Merc on it in Canada..............don't know where it went after Ludy.
Say hello to Dick for me!

S501 Molinari
Ken Mann (actually his dad Claude) sold that little boat to a guy named Skeeter who put seats in it & ran around Riverside Inn with a 1500XS.If you remember Joe, I think Ken won Single outboard in that last Channel Derby That you won overall.

Mike, I didn't see a picture of the S-501 you are talking about. But you are right. Ken did win with that boat. It was fast and stable, but liked to do a barrel roll in corners as Ken found out at Bayshore in'70 I think. That S-501 was a 65 or 66 (or earlier) Molly that was wide and short with very different sponsons than the 18' like Blue Gene and the Glass Glastrons.

18' Molinari resto.....
You sure did a great job bringing that rig back to life, it's beautiful! As you get more time in it, my advice would be to always hold the speed down.....especially into the wind. I remember driving those 18'ers, pure joy. Just one thing to remember....if you get a little overconfident in one, it will bite you.....they do not forgive a mistake.

Thanks Willabee--it was a big job , replaced decks, sponson bottoms and sides, 12' to 18' of bow, and 2/3 of bottom. I was very happy with the T1 that started from parts and no pistons. The steering bar was a bear - from a picture on S&F and solid SS.
Dick Summerfeld came to see boat and supplied pictures for paint and lettering
