I'm not sure on the fourth shot but could that be Jackie in the #27 boat?
you look at the flag on the 27 and its italian, and on a slab !!!!! i didn't drive those things.
The white boat looks remarkably like the 1970 Paris boat. [ comfortable-----pick of the field----docile--------safe-------steady----- ready to pass the French timekeepers unnoticed ?????] I DIDN'T PUT UP THE PICTURE !!!!
PERCIVAL and SPALDING usually had the same sponsor until Bob went to Carlsberg but they did race 10 and 11.

You deserve it as the fastest qualifier. Those 20 hp Mercs sure are fast. #12 not sure who this is maybe willabee can help here. Looks like Hering driving. #457 is Bob, #5 is Cees, and 199 is Petty.

Hey there Jackie! I always get a chuckle from your musings. How's about some pics and details about your Cosworth KT?

I heard it was pretty awesome at the time.

Hope all's well with your Cataract operation.

    Regards

    Brian

Here are a few "Hot Singles". First is Bob Hering and I can't remember if it is Denny or Dewey driving the Twistercraft. I could call Denny now, just lives down the street, but he is probably in bed. Second is John Gibbs at Parker. Third is our man Willabee fueling the Berghauers, Parker 73. Fourth is Bert Sera, Earl Bentz, and Dick Sherrer in St. Louis. Last is one happy Tom Stickle. I'm not sure why though. Probably going home to see Marcia after the race.

Still can't find that head shot of Jackie. I have about 50 more to go through.

I'd like to make a few guesses at the driver's meeting:

Seated front, far right, very near and out of focus ... Nordskog
Seated, center front, out of focus, wearing sunglasses ... Schubert
    Standing arms folded, Reggie
Seated, a few rows back, left of center, behind the gentleman wearing glasses, big sideburns, hand to face ... Jimbo?

I wonder who that is hidden behind the other 2 racers, wearing the same jumpsuit as Reggie?

Not as much as Big Don Pruett would fill one up!

Any you Southeast guys remember Danny Agnew? He could fill the void behind the wheel too.

The first shot is at Kaukauna, Wisconsin in 1973. It was the gathering for the single engine record run. From the left, the head popping in is Dr. Ted Morgan, the man of the Morgan carb C6 engine fame. I don't know who the guy kneeling down with his back to the camera is. Above him, the face looks like Chuck Mettner, gearcase specialist. Seated are Gene Treichel (rigging) and Bill Allan (powerhead). Standing in coveralls is Rick LaMore (powerhead) and kneeling in the white shirt is Jim Merten. Mert drove the Jones hydro to a new record of 136 topping the 131 mark set by OMC.

The 2nd shot is also the Kaukauna gathering. This time the boys are in the bar, but only having a Coke so they have not yet made the record attempt. Left to right are Jimmy Kubasta, Boob Hetzel, Dick Klawitter (standing) Merc PR, Jim Merten, Bill Allan, Gene Treichel, Dr. Morgan, the guy I don't recognize, and Rick LaMore.

In the 3rd shot, the guy sitting on the boat looking alot like the lonely Maytag repairman is Mr. Banana Split himself, Bert Serra.
