    1967 Parker

Couldn't find the head shots of Jackie yet but I found the boat he ran in the 67 Parker race. I understand he led it for five laps but just couldn't take the abuse from the spectators and pulled off the course.

I don't think I posted any of these yet because I can't find any scanned. If I have it was some time ago. I'll start off with a teaser because I'm a little short of time tonight.

Willabee: you should have no problem naming all of the guys in the photos so this is a test.

Rich: that sure looked like Bowie in the bottom left of the photo but it was not. I never noticed it before. I'm sure he was not interested in Boat Racing at that time.

Princess Margaret Was Certainly At Chase In 78 But She Is Definitely Not In That Picture. She Was A Great Patron Of Powerboating With An Extraordinary Memory For Detail. The Wreck Of The Molinari Was Total Wasn't It? And I Have To Bow To Your Superior Knowledge On The Crash Details.
Another Thing, 'dewdrop' Was Paid To Take Pictures Of Mercury Personnel Whenever Possible, Which Was Generally Most Of The Time !!!!!!!!!! He Never Did Get Rich !!!!!!!!!!

    Jackie Havasu 1972

Sorry Jackie I just have to do this. I'm still looking for the head shot of you but came accross this shot instead. It's just before the start of the race as you were passing along in front of the crowd showing your true racing form. I"m sure your heading to your starting position on the pole. You deserve it as the fastest qualifier. Those 20 hp Mercs sure are fast. #12 not sure who this is maybe willabee can help here. Looks like Hering driving. #457 is Bob, #5 is Cees, and 199 is Petty.

Jackie/Willabee you may have to help here. First shot is boats 10 and 11 which are Tom Percival and Bob Spaldings numbers but I believe #11 is Bob Hollaway and Gary Peacock. Looks like Bob driving. The #10 boat is Earl and Reggie and looks like Earl driving. Second shot is Herings number but doesn't look like he or Renato driving, could it be Jackie? Third is Bob. I'm not sure on the fourth shot but could that be Jackie in the #27 boat?

We all know Reggie. Second is Harold Bateman and Doug Pearl. I think this is Miami in 72 and I believe Harold won here. Not sure though. Third is Jimbo at Havasu in 69, I believe getting towed in.

I just ran accross this. Miami 1972 so confirms my previous post. I thought it was Harold Bateman not Howard as shown in the results sheet. Who is correct.
