    pure muscle power, the elephant.

Thought I'd share a pic of some serious power we just built at my shop. 1968 426 Hemi going into it's original numbers matching 68 Coronet 4spd car, of only 43 made.

If only I'd kept my 68 Hemi GTX. It was 4 speed with every original piece still intact. Only drawback was the ugly green color with green vinyl top.

Why the non original oil pan on a numbers matchin' car that's that rare?

That brings up another question. Isn't that wrinkle paint on the valve covers? I've been lookin' everywhere for it to put on some of the old Merc cast iron engine stands that I have but nobody seems to have it anymore. I can find hammered, but not wrinkle. Any source in spray cans?

    Wrinkle.

The best wrinkle I got from the Harley dealer. Don't know if they still have it, I polished my cases years ago and don't use it anymore..

RM, I'll check with dad after lunch about sources for the wrinkle paint, as for those covers the owner supplied them and they come from mopar with the wrinkle coat already on.

Wait till I post the next post on the piece of muscle thats in my bay right now , I got some pics but want a vid of it running too for all to see and hear. Here is a little sneak peak.

Wrinkle paint?? Maybe Eastwood has it?? Don't have one of their catalogues at my fingertips. J.C. Whitney might also have it.

    Oil pan

I don't care for the deep oil pans, they drag the grownd. They tear up the driveways grass. They leak when stomping curbs. I like stock oil pans, but they are low on oil capacty. He want to sell his stock pan????

RM, seems the paint we use is made by VHT , might have a can left to get a pn# from, forgot to check before I left work today.

Stock pan is for sale for $200,000.00 , comes with car just not installed.

Norteastcat, I wuz gunna post a pic ov our ole 64 hemi, but it'z too big on this board...All Hemis wuzn't "Hemi Orange"...when we picked up the last SS hemi( if U bought a factory race car, U could purchase a complete SShemi in tha crate from Chrysler(1973)...Our mota block wuz black, wit un-painted aluminium heads and chrome Valve covers...

Raceman, If U wuzn't such an ugly prikk, U could order the wrinkle finish paint from O'Rieleys auto parts...I wanna say it'z VHT(or sumpth'in like dat)...U have to talk to sumbody that remembers what a parts BOOK iz, kuz it ain't listed in a puter...
