    Head bolt torque on omc 200 looper.

    What is the torque specs on the head bolts?200 looper...Thanks

    Head bolts

    Depends on the type of head bolt. If it is after 1993 and silver in color (stainless) then 15/17 ft. lbs is all they will take. The earlier gold bolts (cad palted) would take 18/20 ft. lbs. Doesn't sound like much difference, but the threads on the silver bolts will strip. The funny thing is, it usually doesn't hurt the aluminum block. Those silver bolts look and feel like they are made out of lead!! But they don't rust!! FYI Dab
