    I wouldn't.

It will have terrible acceleration, it will run very poorly with any weight in the boat, and catamarins are really hard on lower units and skegs. It would probably hurt resale if the boat is in decent condition and you go rerigging it for single cause very few people would buy it and want to keep it that way.

I could probably think of a ton of other reasons too, but it's getting late.

There is one in with a single Long Island that the owner is content with but ride in one with twins and I think you'd change your mind really fast.

thanks Mike, I tend to agree with you ,someone also told me the boat is going to need a pod if I run a single motor. The hull is brand new and was built very light, balsa and foam const. I was hopeing to use my 300x to push it ,but resale is up there on my priorty list . Thanks for the reply, , Lou .D

Brand new????? Explain how you have a new 24

The 21s have a small diverter to help planing and even then they don't plane that great.

My 24 hops on plane like nothing, I don't even have to trim it down.

And just to respond to the posed question...
    "can I run a single 300X on a 24 Skater".

Your on L.I. Dan1731's is on L.I. also teamshadow01. As a matter of fact...Bash knows them....and also for another fact...it was the fastest single outboard boat in the infamous 1st & only GSB SOB bridge to bridge run held last Oct. It was finished first...but being a non v-hull...it was never from the beginning considered an entrant. It finished FIRST...THAT SAYS IT ALL. PM Bash . He has/Had some video of it running.

    But it's the slowest cat/tunnel!

Twins are the only way to go on a 24.

But the resale factor won't really be an issue on a pop.

Hey, see if you can catch a ride on Dan's boat before you make your decision, there is something to be said for one engine, one problem, I don't know if it's more fuel efficient, it might even be worse since the engine's working much harder.

I thought twins would be a bit of a nightmare, but so far I'm growing to love them. You have a second chance to get back to the dock, and you get used to maintaining two pretty quickly. It's nice to have another motor to look at and swap parts with for troubleshooting.

Bash don't you have video of Dan's boat running?
