I've got a friend that keeps a Yamaha boat with twin 110 jets at his houseboat, says it will run 75. Everytime I'm there with my gps its gone or he's gone. One of these days I'll get to break his heart. Anybody familiar with these, what speed, 55 maybe?

    Gp -1200

My stock GP -1200 runs an indicated 59 mph and thats plenty fast on one of these things for the average Joe . People are constantly crashing into stuff with these boats because they are so easy to hop on and fly , dumb asses forget to steer with throttle and crash big all the time . There is an IJSBA race in Oldsmar , fl at Tower Lake next weekend for any locals interested . Should be some interesting scenery there !

Always enjoy hearing about all the 70-80 mph stock ski's on the water. Had a friend who dumped thousands into a Yamaha bored and stroked to 1400+. Aftermarket case halves, aftermarket jugs, aftermarket jet pump, MSD total loss ignition, Aftermarket heads, pipes, tons of cylinder pressure. Best he EVER did (radar) was 74.

I have a SeaDoo XP Lake lice, mostly for the kids and guests. I love to watch newbians trying to steer with the throttle off, get nervous and fall off
    It's only a 60-62 mph machine.

We have a guy upstate that has 2 new SeaDoo's w/ the supercharger, new intakes, new impeller, new exhaust, 72 mph.......

Although he does love us blowing by him

Be honest now Trikki, we know you use your ski more than your STV.

couldn't agree more with you on number two.
kids and guests. We have a party and when you drop the skis in the water, it gets you out of running people around in your boat all day.

I got one of those old kawasaki x-2's. I don't know if anyones familiar with them but they were on of the first waverunners u started by laying in the water then you could get up on it and sit down. IT's a real tippy machine it's funny watching people try it. Expcially when they have been on waverunners before and they think theres nothing to it.

My older brother has a Yamaha 1100 with 155 HP plus whatever the aftermarket exhaust is worth besides noise (and looking cool).

Up to 40 it accelerates a lot harder than my SS2000/150XR4. Over 40 I can run away. Its amazing that such a bigger boat will outrun a PWC with about the same HP.

His Waverunner maxes in the low 60's, with its speedo reading low 70's. How would the typical PWC owner know that their speedos are so optimistic? I don't think they bull*** their speeds, they just don't know better.

I gotta agree with that. my experence with speedos is that they are low up to 45-55, some what accurate at 45-55 and generous above that. most people don't realize that!
