Just trying to figure what DanU resto would weigh and how it would run with older period single ,not the newer merc. High 60 seams like it might be a bit heavy. Just comparing an old newer at the time Baker Viper that ran in the 80s, fast.

I'm going to weight the boat when I'm done with the gelcoating. I have the deck back on the hull and am still in the process of sanding all the old added metalflake paint off the boat Once thats done I'll flip the boat over and sand that metalflake paint off ,regel the bottom, add a pad then flip back over and work on the deck. Weighing it now would be fruitless because the gelcoat will add quite abit of weight. I'm guessing the weight should come in around 700-750#. Now keep in mind ...this is a Victor...not a Wildcat , so it's a bigger...wider and heavier boat. I'm hoping for mid to high 60's with the 135 Johnson I have.

Well if you're stuck on OMC maybe this guy could help with some parts if he still has them.

I'm not stuck on OMC...that's just what I have available to me at the moment. This is just going to be the first motor I put on the boat to get it in the water. I also have a Suzuki 140 that I have on another boat available to use and the Merc 200, but the Merc is a 25" and there would be a lot of work to make it right. I also don't have unlimited funds so that plays into it also.....sorry to disappoint you... but that's just the facts

No disappointment here, just chiming in. Thought some options for the OMC might come in handy.

My Hustler V with pad had twin Chrysler 105s with racing lower units, don't know speed when I got it one motor was bad the good one I put on a 3 point 14' it ran about 70. Put 135 Rude on Hustler ran 72+ with DAH 27 cleaver. Don't know where boat is now.

The race lower helps . The 105 is really 105ci 140 bored 3.415 with one piece powerflow lower from 78. Turns 21 ss to 6200. Pics bellow are from the Canadian Division.

Just installed a hoist in my shop so I can flip the Hustler over and did a quick weight check and before the gelcoating is done it weighs in at 750 # so this is NOT a race boat unfortunately. I'm figuring it's going to come in at about 800-825 all in with steering, seats, carpet, lights and gelcoat. Time will tell!
