225 yamaha 4 stroke l/u
will a lower unit off a 2002 225 yamaha 2stroke work on a 2004 225 4 stroke

I don't know if they will bolt up but they use different gear ratios. The 2 strokes use a 1.75 or 1.81 depending on which model 225. The 4 stroke uses a 2.0 ratio to provide better low end thrust and also allow the higher rev range than the 2 strokes.
I've got a brand new 225 (4 stroke) 25 " shaft length left hand lower unit for sale $1500 + shipping. Can locate a left turning prop if needed. Thanks,
