I'm running an old Stratos VT 180 Rocket, which I've been told is the same hull as an LTV. I've got a 275 V8 'Rude on it, with a 6" jackplate. No matter where I set the motor height, or how much trim I throw at it, I can't get the bow up. I've tried different props, now I have an OMC 28" raker which is the best I've tried so far. Do you think more setback would let me get the bow up? The boat runs pretty much level, and I'm sure I could get some more out of it if I could get it to fly properly. The hull has been stripped of all of the soaking wet foam under the floor (475 pounds of it!) and it has a new floor and transom. Best speed so far is 78, with the prop shaft about 1" below the pad. Any less than that and the bow won't come up at all.

What pitch would you suggest? I'd kinda like to keep the old girl around 6000 rpms. It's turning the 28 Raker at 6 to 6200

That's exactly what I want. I'll see if I can find one to try.

I spent a good part of the summer wrenching on it, I finally put it all back to stock specs, and its running pretty good. At some point next year I want to try a 225 V6 on the Stratos, and see how that works.

Yeah, I can believe that. I've also got an 18 Charger SK, that usually has a 200 'Rude on it, and runs 82. I blew up the 200, and tried the V8 on it. 7 mph slower, and drove like a dog!
