I did see that Venus out on the Trader. Dont' know the boat but would be glad to go & take a look for you if you get serious. IMO, reports of Venus' being common, or out-there in quantity are probably overstated. The Venus wasnt' a big seller for Hydrostream, I would guess that between 77' & 91' - Howard probably never made more than 5-600 of these behemoths - maybe not even that many(?). I DO know that they are built like TANKS! and nearly as heavy... As I have gotten more "intimate" with mine, I'd have to say that 1000lbs might be a little on the light side - I'm thinking more like 12-1300lbs... One thing for-sure, they are definately unique.

My buddy says 1000 lbs because he tore this down and its basically a COMP Venus. Just ask Anthony S., he's talked this boat over with Chris (the owner) many times and he knows this boat very well too. Its not your average Venus, it has gone through alot of work to get where it is today.

That thing looks pristine!
Taking a couple-hundred lbs. out probably didnt' hurt in puttin' up those big #'s either. I've got nearly 100hp on that ProMax and struggle w/mine over 85... 
Maybe I should fly-out & get some driving lessons from Chris!!
