Just an idea , maybe the spliced belts would be stronger if you cut them at a 30-45* angle .I would use the same specs as a stock inline leaning to the high side,20/1 oil mix ,100 octane fuel, timing 20-24* depending on fuel. If you go into detonation with these engines it will destroy itself very quickly! Pay close attention to carb setup with float levels , linkage, fuel pressure . These engines are overcarbed so it's critical that all carbs are setup the same.I'm trying some jet changes this year .What are you going to run this on ? What gearcase and props are you using? Glen

I have a question on the inline 6 distribitor the one on my T2X which has the problem with all the stickey sealer draining out . I have a 150 merc dist. which I was going to use the sending unit and rotor asmb..but I see the plate that the sender sends threw has smaller openings. Was this a upgrade???

The trigger disk on the T2/T2x engine are an "even fire" type ( the holes are exactly 60* apart ), on the normal engines some cylinders are retarded a bit ( to cope with the flex in the crankshaft due to it's length and main bearing support ( T2x got 7 and the std engine got 4 main bearings ) + a bit uneven fuel/air mixture on some cylinders due to gravity ( a T2x got 6 carb so this wasn't an issue on those engines ) ...

You can change the disk ,just be careful not to break the rotor or the pickup. If the nut on the dist shaft doesn't want to come loose use a cordless impact driver while holding the rotor in a rag. I distroyed one trying other methods. The discs have a right side up ,so mark it to get it in the right possition.Arnes right about the difference in the cranks ,but I think the std engine only has 4 main bearings.Glen

I thank you for the info about the trigger disk I changed it to the one on the T2X .I had some trouble getting the nut loose but I used the impact driver method it worked great. Have it together and back on the motor. The timing belt I repaired with the nylon backing has bonded so well I dont see it coming apart it seems extremely strong and flexiable. I have pulled ,bent ,twisted next step is run it. I think as long as distribitor is free should be OK. Keep you posted Skeeter..

Skeet2,hopefully your belt repair is sucessful, thats an impressive collection you have . Can you give us some of your setup specs for the TllX ,such as fuel pressure, jet size for your elevation ,carb model, timing , idle needle . I have a T-ll ,1250SBP, 1500 short shaft and a couple other I6s . At present I'm restoring my full nose 18' Molinari and running the T-ll on a 14' Cobra videos of both on u-tube under Baldad45.

the ports on my t-2 are way bigger than any xs. which is the real reason it has more stuff. the carbs and front half need to coincide.

    T2 ports

Thanks Arne , looks like it's into the top wall a little and the center ports squared . Also a good view of the intake ports showing the delay in the center port with its upward flow .
