    Thumbs up Mercury Twisters T1, T2, T2X

Who out there is into Twisters? All of you guys need a site to exchange info, parts and knowledge. I am restoring a T2X and collecting some miscelaneous parts. I could use all the info I can scrape up. I have also located a couple of T1's, complete with various mids and gearcases>

    Any Help?????

    Thanks!!!!!

There are a bunch of guys here with Super BP's and Twisters, along with a bunch of facts, some opinions, a little B.S. and an occasional lie. I can't say anyone really gets them wet anymore though......
I have a real 1250 Super B.P. I've been restoring for the last couple of years. Got all of the right parts now, everything detailed and painted, It just need's put together. I might even run it when it's done.....
Bruster's Mercury solid motor mounts, details here:

I'm been living in fast forward, now I need to rewind real slow....

    Thumbs up Twisters

Hey Bruce, I intend for mine to get wet. The goal is to have it completed by May of 04 in time to have some fun with the guys at the Radical Boat Reunion in Palatka, Fl. Would be alot of fun to bring out some of the old hardware, then set up a race course and see if those boys with STV's and Mirage's can get them around it like some of these 30 year old raceboats. Hell, how about a 11/4 mile tri-oval!!!!!
Bet we can get Olegator out for that one!!!!

Let's get these old Merc's fired up!!!

Guys, I think this forum does quite well on the Twister motor group. Forming something new would be redundant and harder to find for new guys with Twisters/looking for information.

As a place to ask questions and get answers, this site and forum are hard to beat.

Starting your own website to show off what you have -- that would be a good idea! But with less time and effort you can post to the gallery here, use the buy/sell forum and ask your questions...........right here in a thread like this!

    Twisters

Sam, your points are well taken. My computer time is limited due to too many other things that need to get done. I would be very appreciative of a list of guys that are into Twisters and older race engines for quick access to information and parts. The preservation of these old engines and raceboats should be important to those already involved. I would like to eventually put together a show/rally for for this old equipment that everyone involved could attend, meet others and have a great get together!
As for STV-Keith, he is always up for starting something, grudge races, new sites and trouble, and have a hell of a lot of fun doing it!!!!
I know a few guys involved like Olegator, Raceman and yourself, but it is all of the others we need to group up. Alot of these guys have a lot of parts but how many complete and running twisters do we have? If we could get these guys together and exchange some of these parts, we may just get alot more of these engines/raceboats restored and together for show and go!!!

    Anyone else have any thoughts?

75-H has the right idea.....we need more people on one website...not fewer on more.

T2x........ a little bit of a Twister fan myself.

Not yet, but it's not the motors' fault. Still playing with getting the gel exactly as I want it. Soon though, soon.

Only problem is if anyone posts they have something RM gets it!

What we need is a site that bans Norris from the parts for sale section. Hey just pickin on ya!

    Thumbs up Raceman

Hey, forget banning him, we just got to talk him into lettin go of some of that stuff so the rest of us can get some engines built and ready to run!!!! I would much rather see these old raceboats and engines at the shows and in the water than on the shelf in Norris's garage!!!!
Besides, after you have one of each and some spare parts, how much more do you need???

    How bout it????

Hey Norris, I know where not one, but 2 T1's are and one is a 20" offshore with a MC-1 speedmaster!!!!!!

    Olegator, jump on in here!!!!

There already is a show/rally for old race equipment of all types:

The everyother year Antique Raceboat Regatta at Clayton NY

If someone could find another location for an OPC only get together on the off years that would be great, too (plus it would have the benefit of reduced load on the organizer/host being another everyother year event).

You might also consider the Antique Outboard Club's meet at Fond du Lac ... a heavily Merc oriented meet with factory participation......already has a location and host......all you'd have to do is show up

I'm afraid if you want to limit your new club to Twisters you are making it a very small club......sort of like the Mark75H owners club......there just aren't that many Twisters being restored and they are very geographicly scattered. Probably most of the guys that now have their hands on them don't really have the means to travel half way across the country every year to a get together.
