    1/8 mile drag

If you are sticking stricktly to a stream and mainly want to play in an 1/8 mile to me the only choice would be a Vandal. They plain quicker and get on the pad quicker than most all the streams. With a big motor center steer is a must. because of the way they pac air in the front the reguire very little trim.
I know everybody is going to say a V6 is to big for one but iI have been running a V6 Xflow on mine all year.
As for Ronnie and his Viper he may beat the Vandal on top end but in an 1/8 mile drag he will be looking back to see if his motor fell off.
Just ask T-rex he got spanked by a Vandal through the first 2\3s of a 1/4 before just reeling him in at the end.
I agree with raceman the Allisons would be faster though.
If you want to see one run just come to the Rumble

    Good luck Rob

There is a vandal on the boats under 20' for sale, maybe you could get him to seperate it and just buy the boat and trailer, or you could by RD's allison? Jesse would probably sell his, and trust me, it is driveable, i've had it to 81.6 gps with 26 small blade chopper at 6500 rpm. That's with a 150hp.

ON SECOND THOUGHT, JUST GET YOU A PROJECT TUNNEL HULL, RD built 200 merc, some seat time, and you'll love it. There nothin like a tunnel, I'll let you drive mine this weekend if you need to make your mind up, then drive Jesse's!!!! See ya at the Bend.

Yea, when I went from 6" plate to on the transom, I lost 5 MPH top end.

Gained 3 MPH over the 6" plate when I went to the 8" plate.

    BIG B

never thought I would get this many responses on this but have welcomed all of them. I am going to drive RD;s Allison, and see how I like it. He has already said that I need to buy it, lol I am just worried as to how that thing will handle with that much engine on the back. lol Whatever I get I want to start from the bare hull and build it up a piece at a time myself rather than just buying it and driving it, to me working on them are half the fun. I would love an allison or a tunnel if I could find one for the right money. I just started with the Vector/V-king because I know where three or four hulls are at this very moment that could be had for little money. Like I said I am just getting some good info because it will be the winter before I get anything and start to work. HEY BIG B Ever srayed any gelcoat? lol, Trying to decide if I want to tackle trying to spray the gelcoat myself on the boat I have now, just about talked myself into trying it. Don't guess I have anything to loose I guess you can always wet sand and buff it out. See yall at the bend I may go tommorrow and run my boat a little bit I went thru the carbs and cleaned them out and not had much luck getting on the water since. So Catch yall later.

    GELCOAT

Doesn't spray like paint, you wont be able to make it slick out like paint. When it hardens it will be orange peely, you will have to wet sand and buff, or wet sand and reclear with polyurethane. You can't mess it up, if you do, sand it off and start over.

I would save my money on material for the new project boat, the green mile looks fine like it is.

    The Green Mile...

Thats funny, I agree wit B. I'd wait until you get a Vector(or V-king) to start working on gel coat. Let the mile be the back up ride. Hydrostream had a pattern i believe they called the Trident pattern. Looked bad ass! Never seen one of these patterns in person. None around this part. If you do decide to design anything when you get one, I'll be glad to help ya lay it out.(computer work). See ya this weekend.

    CAN I HELP

Itchy, if can draw it I can paint it. GB, forget this gelcoat idea and just plan on useing a good grade polyurethane base coat clear system, itz a hell of lot easier than gelcoat, it want be as durable, but it wont chip, fade, or peel as bad as regular enamel. And with the base coat clear system you can do all your strips at one time and then shoot the clear last, then your done.

There's a 15' viper hull and trailer over at RD'z place, not sure if the guy will sell it ,but it would make a good project boat. He's already done some pad work, filling in, straightening, etc. I'd say $1000 for boat and trailer could buy it. RD built 2.4 200 carb, it'd be tough.

That'z a viper, but you knew that...the good thing is thats a simple graphics layout. I could free hand with fine line 3M tape and shoot the colors of your choice. I like red and white. FLAMES OFCOURSE,

    15 footer

That Viper in front of RD's belongs to Steve Parrish. He is putting my old Cow Caller on his tunnel bottom Stratus this weekend so you might be able to catch him at home. He lives across from RD will he is working the shut down at Farley. He has done some floor work, seat box, etc.. All it needs is some paint and a motor. He has had it for a long time and is kind of attached to it but he might sell.

Mrs. Spdboat and I will be thier this weekend as well.

    See Yaa!!!
