Hers a better shot of the mopar stacker. The rest will be smaller shot unless someone wants a larger one. RM, Now that I have a new scanner If you want any of that first merc racing catalog scanned just say the word. I found some more old photos that I will be scanning, Most of the other drag shots are inboards but I'll post them up anyway .

I think this was the first XS That I ever saw. He never was fast enough to catch me in my Viper / 1500. He couldn't keep it from chine walkin for one thing .

Hey - it's a V-Mate 1! I know 'cause I bought one new in '76, they were the successor to the MX15. But they hosed up the hull vs. the MX, I could never get it to run like it should w/ my 1500 short.
Even driven right, he was never gonna catch your Viper If he had it trimmed like that, I think he was shootin' himself in the foot already. Looks like a Baja in the background.Last edited by bearclaw; 12-05-2003 at 02:58 PM.

Nope, He never did get that hull to really hook up and fly. I can't remember if that other hull was a baha or not but there was one that ran when I did. After looking at that shot I think that was my gray van with the side door open. They were most likely going to get me out of the water.

I inlarged that engine shot some more and cropped it. I think that as large as it will go and still be clear enough to do any good.

Stop it, I'm skiwintin at the screen tryin to figgure the brand lowers. Cool Pic's wonder where that old stuff is restin. Looks like a parker on the 4 banger. The T2X , I wonder where the exhaust gets out? The red Merc also looks like a Parker housing. I knew I guy up in Mass that ran a 135 on a SSM on a small Butt's Hydro. He used to use a wood stick to use to wrap the PULL CORD around the flywheel to start a 135 Merc. He claimed big speeds, I don't doubt it.

I think you are right about the orange T2x, I'm thinking that the Chrysler may be sittin' on a Daytona mid made for Chrylser top and bottom with a Chrysler lower unit with the back of the exhaust snout/cav plate cut off. At the top of the Chrysler I don't see enough adapter space between the powerhead and mid to be a different pattern (Chrysler to Merc).

Well, I must have a better monitor than I did 7 years ago ... now I can see the adapter on the Chrysler and the first T-2 has the super short mid I've seen on some other drag racers. My buddy George Luce has one he uses in 850 Mod, and I think Molly B used the same ones.
