    Rubber Clamp or Top Pin

Can you convert a rubber clamp down cowl to a top post? Is there extra fiberglass reinforcement around the top post location of the cowl
If I don't ask any questions, I'll never learn anything.

Same cowl just has a pin for extra security.

You don’t remove the rubber clamps. Just add a top pin.

Imo unless you are offshore racing they aren’t nessisary.

Wish I had one on my old mariner alien though on my bass boat. Lost it during a really rough tournament, but I think someone bumped the clamp at the ramp since I e never had any other issues.

Well there you go, good reason for the pin.

Using the rubber clamps and a pin makes more sense than just a pin. Ill have to dig around to ser what the pin bolts too. Can you pin a pre 85 2.4?

You can pin anything you want, it’s like adding a hood pin to a car

Funny you say that. That's exactly what I was thinking. So if I pin with a threaded pin, I can screw on a wings open bald eagle.
